I offer counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples and groups. I have been in private practice for six years and work with clients on a short - term and long - term basis. I offer daytime and evening appointments.

 

I have experience of working with clients who have had problems with stress, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, anger, childhood abuse, eating disorders, aging, illness, relationships and change.

 

Your therapy session will offer you a professional and confidential space where you can explore issues affecting your everyday life and make decisions about what you want from life. I will offer you ways to become more self-aware and ways to change how you relate to yourself and to problems, opportunities and people in your life.

 

The first session is to decide if we can work together effectively. We will discuss what the work involves and I will usually recommend that we meet on a weekly basis at first, while we build a working relationship.

 

I will be open with you, respectful and empathic. I will focus on approaches which are transparent, empowering and which, most of all, work for you. I will support you as you make the changes you want in your life.

Individuals

50 minute sessions               £35

First appointment                  £25

Couples

90 minute sessions               £55

First appointment 1 hour      £30

 

I have a limited number of sessions available at a reduced rate if you are on a low income.

 

About me

I started my training in counselling in 1997 whilst I was teaching part-time  in a high school. I gained a certificate in person-centred counselling and went on to complete four years psychotherapy training in Transactional Analysis in 2005. I now work in Adult and Family Learning, working with parents and carers schools and children’s centres, alongside my psychotherapy practice.
